Our Beauty Prep Guide

  • 3-6 Months Before

    SKIN

    Start monthly facials or dermatologist visits.

    Exfoliate gently with actives for your skin type 2-3x per week (mandelic, lactic acid, etc.).

    Apply hyalauronic acid + drink plenty of water.

    Go outside and enjoy some vitamin D knowing your freshly applied SPF is protecting you at all times.

    HAIR

    Trim every 8-10 weeks to prevent split ends.

    Limit heat styling + always use a heat protectant.

    Deep condition and remove scalp buildup weekly with clarifying and moisturizing treatments.

    Order hair extensions.

  • 1 Month Before

    SKIN

    Stick to your routine — No new products.

    Final facial (gentle only, ie hydrafacial, etc.)

    Shape and tint brows (if needed).

    Hydrate.

    HAIR

    Touch up your cut or color (2-3 weeks out allowing time for correction if necessary).

    Finalize accessories (veils, decorative hair pieces, etc)

    Schedule or confirm your bridal hair trial.

  • 1 Week Before

    SKIN

    Stop exfoliating & retinoids.

    Use hydrating sheet masks (aloe, rose, centella asiatica)

    Avoid picking at blemishes and make sure your silk pillow case is freshly washed.

    Remove any unwanted facial hair.

    HAIR

    Treat yourself to a blow out this week, it’ll save you time while you finalize other details and plans.

    Skip heavy oils or masks.

    No haircuts or color this close to the big day, but if wearing hair up, make sure neckline is trimmed and neat.

  • Night Before/Morning Of

    SKIN

    Stay hydrated, rest well, and pray! The time has come for you to enjoy everything you’ve worked so hard and prepared for.

    Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin, and leave the skin prep to us!

    More water.

    HAIR

    Shampoo two or three times the night before or morning of and then, BLOWDRY. Air dried hair gets greasy. Blowdried hair is the superior canvas for styling. Don’t feel like blowdrying? That’s what bridesmaids are for. Hand her the dryer sis.

    Wear a robe or button-down to protect your hairstyle when changing into final outfit.
